A Vetting of police officers, assisted by FBI and German experts, will bring back the people’s trust on the State Police, according to Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, and the Interior Minister, Fatmir Xhafaj.
Rama said that citizens who will help with information about the heads of criminal groups will be rewarded generously.
Rama and Xhafaj told officers that after the vetting assisted by FBI and German Police, the agents who will not pass the tests will no longer be part of the uniform. Rama demanded concrete results.
“There was nothing more degrading than what happened to Elbasan. The video (showing police officers doing nothing as a suspect pushes their car with his) was very degrading. The Police Vetting will divide the good ones from the bad ones”, Rama declared
