Recognition of Kosovo’s independence and the introduction of sanctions against Russia are the conditions set for Serbia, in order to get EU membership.
This is what Serbian president Tomislav Nikolic told the national broadcaster RTS, Bulgarian agency BGNES reports. According to Nikolic, this was said to him by EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Johannes Hahn in one of his recent visits to Belgrade.
“Hahn told me that Serbia cannot move forward unless it signed an agreement on neighborly relations with Kosovo. This, in my opinion, implies the recognition of Kosovo’s independence. He (Hahn) also told me that without a common foreign policy, we cannot become EU members,” Nikolic revealed, RTKlive reports.
